Rise of Social Commerce

The Need

Lora Cecere, partner with the Altimeter Group, approached Proof wanting to develop an interactive web presence for their first annual Rise of Social Commerce conference in Palo Alto, California. Creating a website is easy – creating a fully interactive web presence both leading up to and during the conference? This was the exciting challenge Proof was tasked with.

The Work

After discussion with Lora and other Altimeter team members, it was determined that the site would be developed and developed organically leading up to the conference. As months passed, new speakers were added, an interactive community was formed using Pathable, and promotional offers were extended to attendees.

Rise of Social CommerceIn addition, Proof provided ongoing social media strategy and implementation leading up to and throughout the event – acting as the “voice” of the conference on Facebook and Twitter.

The Result

The final product was a web presence that fully identified with the Rise of Social Commerce message of “power to the consumer”. Most importantly, this ‘social’ conference practiced what it preached, interacting throughout the event with attendees and those watching via live feed, successfully intertwining online and offline communication.

With an outstanding speaker lineup and thriving community surrounding the event, Proof assisted in developing an engaging platform for the 2010 conference and future conferences in the years to come.
